Daanish Books is an independent, alternative publishing
house, catering predominantly to the needs of academics, students, activists
and policy-makers. We aim for all our books to reach the broadest possible
audience, and therefore only publish books which are likely to have a
substantial market, in hardback and paperback. Our commitment as a quality publisher
is to books of intellectual distinction and originality; books that embody
Third World and internationalist perspectives, interests and commitment; and
books that relate to neglected issues of all kinds and to disadvantaged social
groups.
We focus publishing books on the following subjects:
Globalization and Structural Adjustment
Militarization and Nuclearization
Ecology and the Environment
Identity, Pluralism and the Threat to Diversity
Alternative Visions of the Future
People’s Movements
If you have a proposal which you think meets these
criteria, please read the next section and contact the editor/editorial board
at Daanish Books. We’d be delighted to hear from you.
