Manoranjan Mohanty is Durgabai Deshmukh Professor of Social Development, Council for Social Development, New Delhi.  Formerly Professor of Political Science, University of Delhi he is Chairperson, Institute of Chinese Studies, Delhi and Chairperson, Development Studies Institute, Bhubaneswar. He has published widely on social movements, human rights and development experiences of India and China. He is also active in peace and human rights movement.
